Title: Allison Filters / Gaskets
Post by: FourTravelers on April 14, 2021, 06:48:19 pm
Quick question:
I'm changing the Allison filters on the 3060R tranny. When I removed the filters there were no gaskets only the two O rings on the plate. So.... the new filters came with both the O rings ( correct ones and others I don't need) and the proper gasket for the plate.
So the question:
Does it not need the gaskets on the plate or did the mechanic who installed the filters last time just not use them?
It wasn't leaking or seeping and it's been driven over 40,000 miles since then.

Justin,

I thought we had this pdf file here in the Wiki section but couldn't find it.  I can't show you my hard copy so I went and got this one from the Wonderlodge group (the first one I could find) . Scan down to page 35 for what you need.

Kits contain gaskets/O rings for several different applications.

Assuming you had no leaks with the old arrangement, replace with new ones that are EXACTLY what you took off.

Thanks Mike & Brett.....
I had read where the filter kit instructions stated to not use the gaskets if none were removed.  Being the 4th owner of the coach, I wasn't sure if it had been done correctly in the past.
Mike, the info you provided answered my question, I have the earlier serial number that doesn't use the gaskets. 👍

Thanks for the replies. 👍👍
