I continue to battle with my right rear turn signal. All other lights works fine. I am missing drawing A6343 from my manual, which is referenced in the big 12 volt drawing as providing additional detail on turn signal circuit. I have two copies of the smart wheel drawing, so probably missing turn signal detail drawing since delivery in 1998.
When the coach is parked the RRT does not work running or not. My wife followed me in the car and says it starts working once I'm rolling out of the campground and while driving. If I get out to check, it quits working. The wire is 226. I've verified the bulb is good, the socket is good, the ground is good at the coach rear (all running and signal lights at rear ground to frame at a harness strap, wires are all 12 gauge green.) I traced the harness back to where the 226 wire branches to trailer light plug. If I put an external 12 volt positive source to that junction, both trailer light and coach RRT work.
Side note. All signal wires are white and numbered, near the light fixture Foretravel converts to conventional wiring colors. So the white 226 becomes green, the green ground wire become white.
My coach recently had the shepherd power steering box replaced. I'm wondering now if the removal of the steering column might have affected this RRT wire. Anyone know how the wires branch out from the turn signal and become distributed? Going a little bit crazy with this at the moment. Thanks.
I hope this is the drawing you want.
Yes. That's the one. Thanks
I had a similar problem, ( not in a motorhome) caused by a circuit board in the tail light assembly. If the brake or parking brake was was being used, or the transmission was in park the light would not come on.
Using the wiring diagram from OldGuy I was able trace the connection for the right rear turn signal. Interestingly the front and rear signals on each side are separate connections. I'm not declaring victory, but an overly tight wiring harness at the steering wheel may have been the culprit. Currently working. Hopefully can get the coach inspection now.
I noticed the flashers weren't working with steering wheel tilted up. Tilted down and they started working.
Thanks to all who keep up with the forum.
Steering wheel pulled and connection at switch was moving just enough when tilted to cause problem. Going to put this topic to bed. Thanks.
Thank you for coming back and letting everyone know the solution - undoubtedly it will help someone in the future ^.^d
