Just wondering who uses the Fumoto oil drain valve? Pros cons? Is there a specific size for my 8.3 Cummins? Thanks!
I have the no spill system and it is awesome. The advantage of the no spill is it doesn't hang down any more than a drain plug and
the disadvantage is you could lose the the drain part as it is stored when not in use. Either system makes it a lot less messy when
draining oil and if you have an aluminum pan ( I think the 8.3 is steel) it will save the drain plug threads.
Is this no spill system something unique to your coach or is this something I can obtain somewhere?
Google no spill and that will take you to there site. They make them for everything.

My first oil change on our 1998, and the aluminum pan threads stripped. I have gathered the tools, and am waiting on the repair part. Believe me when I tell you I have the No Spill in hand, and it is going on there.
I ordered a no spill system yesterday, will have it for the next oil change, have heard good things about it..... we'll see

I have the Fumoto on both the engine and generator pans. Easy to drain and no mess as well. Either system works, so whatever floats your boat! Not sure on your size, we have the M11 450.
I have the Fumoto valve on my M11, works well.
I have the Fumoto. I like how I can directly drain into a gallon jug, shut it off, and switch out to the next jug. No transferring from a large pan into jugs.
Same here.
I have the Fumoto oil drain valve on my ISL 400 ^.^d
Does anyone know what size fumoto drain valve I would need for my 93 Grand Villa 8.3 ?
Joe do you remember the part number for the valve that fit the Ginny?

Go to this link it will show engines and plugs needed

I guess I'm dense. Don't see the one for a C8.3 Cummins.
Bob,
Look up your engine and which style you want here

Bob, I just ordered the Fumoto original F104N
I cross reference the measurements for the drain valve and came up with this one. I'm crossing my fingers it's the correct one
RE: disadvantage of losing no-spills drain hose
We bought a spare drainer hose and keep it separate from original..
To save drain plug problems, we recommend No-Spills COMPACT style. Draining is easier, but slower.
We have them on Cummins C8.3 and Gen Isuzu 8000. Used to have them on Jeep
Hi Keith; sorry, sure don't. I thought it was the same as the M11, but can't remember for sure! I have the Kubota 10k gen.
I have a Powertech 10kw to with a kubota too, just don't know which motor it is on their drop down box
Thanks
Keith
Keith on my '99 with an Isuzu engine I used a Fumoto F105N valve. This is a 20mm x 1.5 thread size and might be the same thread as your Kubota.
Well.....was the F104N the correct one?.....curious mind with an 01 8.3 would like to know. I have them on all of our other vehicles and would like to have it for this cummins as well, but like you have had no luck with an online source saying for sure which one to use.
It was the correct one. I used it to drain the oil but I put the old drain cap back on as I was concerned that the fumoto valve might get broken off the way it hung down. I use the Shop-Vac trick on the oil fill and changed out the valves and never spilled a drop, it was pretty cool.
That's what I like about the no spill it doesn't hang down. I think both are great
depending on the application.
was the F104N the correct one?
Thanks Mike
I envisioned this when I bought the Fumoto valve. Until I realized my new jugs won't be empty until the new oil is in the system.... I never have enough empty jugs lying around. Oh well, it's still easier ;)
In our small town, I can call Waste Management and they will drop off several 2 1/2 gallon containers for oil. They will pick up the next week or NAPA/Autozone will also take the waste oil.

I have used this for years and really like it. After use, wipe it down and hang it in my shop.

I like it because I change all my cars oil based on time not mileage(we don't roll up much mileage) and I can do all three cars into the pan and just do one clean up.
Matt what repair part and tools did you need to repair your oil pan? Mine stripped today..🙁
Keith
I did a write up for the forum. I will look for it later if fellow forum mates don't beat me to it.
Search for "M-11 oil pan threads"
Repaired. Had the Cummins fix it sleeve installed and a no spill Drain plug installed... Hopefully no more problems.. kinda wish now I would have gotten the compact drain plug but I'm happy with this one...
Keith
You might actually be better off with the standard drain plug that you have rather than the compact. I chose the compact because I have a frame member near the plug that creates a space limitation. My issue with the compact is that, due to the shorter threads, it makes it a little challenging to attach the drain hose without depressing the internal valve and leaking a little oil. I suspect the standard version won't have that issue. Also, give yourself plenty of time for an oil change....it drains very slowly compared to the OEM plug.
I have the compact model and have no issues with the oil leaking while I screw the drain adaptor in. Put the bucket under the pan, screw the adaptor in and all the oil stays inside the plastic tube.
I have the compact one also and it works perfectly.
Had compact model for many years, and it works just fine. Not sure what problem some have with compact. We also have spare compact drain hose because if we misplace the hose, draining would be a problem.
