Old carpet, tile, furniture, and some valances removed. Looks empty. We are getting the sofa and captains chairs reupholstered. New fabric on valances and some really " cheap " shades.
Same floor plan, 99 295. Well pleased with Shade Pro. $200./ window. Delivery rough 10 days after ordered. No tax, free shippin.
Raised the "valance" in the kitchen window so now I can see out if the shade is up.
The std valances will work if U put them up "loose" as ours were in good shape & acceptable to the interior owner that's what I did.
As U are recovering would add about a 1/2 In to the depth if U use shade pro.
Just a couple thoughts..
No expert computerize was going to send couple pixs, did not work out, Good luck..
Subbed. Definitely want to see how this turns out!
What floor are you installing, Ernie?
We are going to use some 3,5, and 7 inch widths natural hickory. We selected window valance material yesterday. We also bought some blackout shades. There is a couple weeks lead time before I start installing- other work gets in the way of "play"
If you need help with the floor, I know a guy in Texas. ;D
Wow Ernie, I checked out your link. You do some really nice work! I think I now have to add to the list... bye bye green carpet...
We've been thinking about replacing the dinette with a countertop and some stools.
Now I can see what's behind it.
Your projects look really nice; definitely would have looked you up if you were still in Bridgewater...
Other coaches have gotten in the way of working on ours. But first-out with the old blue/gray and blinds and in with the new:
I just saw your last sentence. Bridgewater? As in Massachusetts?
Out with the old cabinet tops, old Dometic, old plumbing.
I see my old friend that hammer sitting there. That's how I removed my Corian countertops.
Your subfloor is a lot better shape than mine was too. At some point I'm going to redo the floor with the glue down instead of float lvt. At that point I'm going to have to do something about my old subfloor. I may have to put a quarter inch piece of plywood over it which I really don't want to do because it will create some issues around the doorway.
Or I may just let the next owner worry about it. I kind of burned myself out on interior projects. Besides I don't have any place to really do it anymore.
The cabinet top fabricator has a little lead time- I guess every trade is backed up. The Samsung is supposed to be here this coming week. My son and I will do that install. After that, I will be adding 3,5,and 7 inch widths hickory.
I knew I should install 1/4' subfloor before I installed our Karndean tile, but I was lazy. My flooring subcontractor buddy told me I really should do it, so I listened to him. It wasn't a big deal, really gave me a great substrata, and caused me no problems, even at the slide. Remember, you are removing a thick underlayment and carpet. May be a different issue with engineered flooring. I like the tile A LOT.
Flooring problems are no sweat for me being on my knees going on 50 years in the bid-ness
What counter tops are you installing?
It will be a composite. I forgot the name but will get it when I go to the fabricator.
Prevost has left the premises.
So- back to the renovation. New Samsung installed and first runs of hickory going in.
Cabinet tops in the dumpster. New ones ordered. Skylight was broken and ordered a new one of those. Let's throw some more money around.
That's going to look fantastic! Keep posting pics :)
Started early this morning.
We have a good friend who quilts and made this creation for our Liberty. There was no way that was going to the buyer and we installed it in the bedroom over the mirror. Old folks don't need mirrors. I installed wood on the electric run.
Looks fantastic! Very clean lines. Appreciate the pics ^.^d
Completed the wire chase, kitchen and Brenda treated the cabinets and walls. Starting to look good
More progress and in one of the images, the oil that we are using on the walnut to bring it back to life
Small areas. That Watco oil does the trick on the wood.
The bathroom floor and utility run is completed. There is no heat duct work outlet in this room so I added an electrical outlet for a ceramic heater. Plus, in the closet there was a good size space behind the closet wall that I can finish out and add a couple shelves.
Ernie,
You are MY KIND OF PEOPLE!
Got to love a craftsman. Rare in today's world. OK, VERY rare.
Thank you, sir.
As A craftsman myself I can agree 100% So many younger folks (and I'm only 39) want nothing to do with learning a trade. I don't know who is going to fix up everyone's houses etc in 20-50 years. I can't find anyone who wants to learn the trade of carpentry/contracting.
Your floor is looking fantastic! Thank you for posting updates Ernie :)
You always do nice work, it's a pleasure to look at your pictures of the work
that you have done.
It's a family of craftsmen. Brent just finished our coach and the attention to detail is so precise.
A visitor in our coach said it's nice that he removed the cabinets to lay the floor.... but that's not the case. He layed the floor up to them. 0 moulding anywhere.
Couple of pics.
I was in your coach. The upgrades really make it look great.
After the last 4 days, the main floor has been completed
Those shower curve cuts look perfect. Nice work!!
When I drove the coach home in April, I could hear a lot of engine noise. I didn't like that and wanted to quiet it down like in our Wanderlodge and Prevost Liberty. I added some weather stripping around the engine cover and some styrofoam panels beside the bed and covered those in carpet. Hopefully, this will be an improvement.Brenda was in charge of the bed skirt.
Working in the entry. Tomorrow I will put a little twist on my signature all wood and rubber treads entry
Decided to add some tile to the entry. The new treads will be installed properly after grouting of the tile.
Your work looks terrific as well as your photos. Are those rubber or are they vinyl stair treads?
Rope commercial rubber
Entry grouted and treads installed
Looks really nice, I look forward to doing something fun with mine when I get to that project. I just rebuilt my stairwell. For now painted plywood and carpet treads will do.
Instead of purchasing new trim for the Samsung, I was able to use the walnut panels that were on the old Dometic. Save those panels!
Yes. I'm in South Plymouth. Buzzards Bay area
We had a cottage on Round pond
The fried clams at Quintal's in East Wareham were wonderful back in the day.
"The Buzzards Bay restaurant was popular for years with its fried clams in particular a strong draw."
Audio/visual and related components installed and working.
New quartz countertops installed today. Plumbing is next.
Brenda going over the punch list.
I like picture #7 best!
Looks like a supervisory position.
Brenda has been removing the peeling decals. Coach looks much better.
So, I went ahead and purchased the Tadi brothers camera system. They sent me instructions in a few emails on how to do the setup. Unfortunately, not for the system I bought. But- with perseverance I figured it out and the thing works as designed. Good clarity.
Let us know how the wireless connections work in use.
Can the wireless side camera's be added to that monitor or better yet the wired side cameras. ???
I wouldn't mind going wireless on the back camera but wired cameras up front would be easier to install in a Grand Villa and loose the antenna on the side ones. Just sayin.
This camera can use 3 or 4 wireless cameras. I chose just the one to see the Jeep. We were doing a short 100 mile drive today and it performed as designed. As did the coach.
Bathroom quartz and backsplash.
Looks great Ernie. The previous owner of our coach added cameras on the left and right sides of our coach. The turn signal activates the turn camera. We love this and wouldn't be without it.
The rear view camera has a wide field of vision. It even makes the grass look greener
Quartz, microwave, artwork and a mural to cover a mirror
Did you remove the gas cooktop or are the cuts in the counter that goes over it super narrow?
Gas cooktop is gone, propane tank is gone. I added a board where cook top was for support. New microwave fit like a glove.
Will you be opting for a portable induction unit, then, for when you need surface-type cooking?
+ 1 .....??
Yes, we have a portable induction, electric fry pans, crock pots- the whole enchilada- sans gas- tums for that
How is the weight of the quartz vs the old plastic countertops? What thickness did you go with?
We went with inch and quarter. I suspect that with all the gear and parts and computer systems etc, that Roger had in this coach, we actually have less. I had it weighed and she comes out to 32,500.
Looks great! What do you use for heat with no propane?
AquaHot for heat and hot water.
Ohh yeah of course, I forgot that runs on diesel. I have not had the pleasure of owning a coach with Aquahot yet!
In fact, Roger installed a larger aqua hot than the usual, from what I understand. Runs like a champ and has the Rudy seal of approval.
And it runs on electric too.
Ernie's coach used to be Roger Burke's.
