Title: [Difference between 34' and 36' [split from a classified ad]
Post by: "Irish" on June 01, 2021, 11:16:47 pm
on the hunt for the elusive 34' 270. Might consider 36' prefer non slide

34'/36' there is not much difference to driving a 34 or 36 ft coach. If you feel you cannot handle a 36' you will be equally overwhelmed by a 34' coach. If you want the 34' because your parking space is restricted: go for it.
There are a lot more 36' coaches and there is a good bit more space for that extra 24" in length.
36' is still accepted in just about all parks including the state parks out west.
We have had a 36' no slide for the last two years and love it, our 270 the base model is fairly simple but luxurious compared a new gasser of the same length.
The 350 hp Cummins engine cruises along with the best of them on the interstate, hills you barely notice most of the time.
You should test drive one, good luck in your quest.

Here's our take from owning our 34' now for 3 years  and comparing with friends 36'- all non slide.

From bathroom to bedroom they're identical. 2' comes out of the kitchen. Pull out Joey bed below also 2' narrower.  All other systems identical (U270). Same 350 HP engine.

36 feet is great but 34 would be even better especially if you spend time in the Wild West. Too bad GVs don't have a nose generator. Our generator takes the space an extra compartment would have.

Late to the party.

A U295 34' going to be rare, if any.

For the money, you get so much more (not quality, that's the same) but features. A U295 is like a U320, but no aquahot. Nothing wrong with a U270.

Our 270 was ordered by the original purchaser with walnut cabinets instead of the standard oak.

I am not concerned about being able to handle a larger rig. More about being able to camp where I want, and the maneuvering in my driveway and shop building. I prefer a KISS coach, no slide, no AquaHot. Not a deal breaker as much as condition, maintenance, updates etc. There have been a couple of 320s show up on board, I perhaps should have jumped at, but I didn't.

My wife and I will have some time off in June. Would be interested in looking and purchasing if someone is ready to sell. Thanks. Kim.
