It sure is slim pickings out there. MOT only has 12, all over 40' except 1.
What length and model FT are you looking for?
Most times you have to expand the search area.. Sometimes you can find one tucked away on a sight that's off the beaten e bay/Craig's list path. Seems it's a sellers market as of late.
Watch RV Trader and other on line sellers. Owners list their coaches to see if a private sale is possible. We bought ours fron the original owner in California more than 10 years ago.
Know what you want and don't want, learn how to evaluate what you are looking at. Set some budget numbers and be ready to make an offer when the right coach shows up.
Good luck.
Wait or cast a wide net if you are shopping. We were looking in 7-8 states, talking to an owner 2400 miles away, inquiring about one in Canada. Bought one 1000 miles away.
I bought mine in Michigan and I live on the coast in BC. Drove through 10
states to get home.
My son in law showed me a very clean 87 ORED asking $15,000 that was a couple of hours ago.
So they're out there.

Our 1993 40' U300 is listed in the Classifieds. We head out a week from tomorrow, be in Nac for Independence Day, back here by 23 July.
Really consider buying from an active member of this forum.
The advantage of knowing the previous owner and history of the coach was a huge consideration for us.
We still "search" the PO's name and see his post, questions, travels and more.
Little chance of getting that much info buying from a sales lot.
I literally searched for over a year actively before stumbling across our coach. I was even starting to think within my price range it didn't exist. Then there it was in a back post about a found lost coach. Many months later it was home. I would guess there are hundreds of coaches forgotten about by the owners or there inherenting families. Many have paid for storage for years without seeing them. Yes they will need a lot up front but you will know what you have, IF YOU CAN LOCATE THEM. beat all the bushes. If this is a option for you. Good luck hunting

Good post Scott! We found an old SOB that had been in storage for 27 years. $500 bought it and the sister of the fellow that died had new batteries installed and propane and fuel tanks filled. Even included a Moped. Sure pogo sticked for the first ten miles until the tires made themselves round again. Made lots of trips including a few to Mexico and even once to Canada.
Looked forever for our U300 and then flew across the U.S. to pick it up. The deals are there but you need to search everyday and then know what you are looking at. Cash is always king whether it's a house, plane, boat or RV.

Words from a very wise man. Lol
Figure out exactly what you want and stop getting sidetracked on what you could settle with. It more difficult than it sounds. I'm so glad I stayed the course! I wanted affordable/ function over form. The U320 fits well for me and yes DW thinks I'm crazy.

" Head in its own space" That was one of the items on a must have. Fortunately-found one
This is what I just did. I sold my very loved and ocd repaired Holiday Rambler Navigator. Well documented on another forum. Just pocketed a very fair amount of cash for all my hard work. I watched the online local sites for a very very long time. Pulled the trigger on a first response type of deal. Fixed it up with a lot of love. Stumbled upon a Foretravel. Don't think I'll look back. Welcome to your new addiction 😉
Did the same with our Prevost. Hopefully the new owners will pick it up this coming week. Then I can change my signature
Check the for sale here at this forum, also I think Infinity in 'Nac has an older 36' consignment..but might need mechanical work.
Just sold my 36ft 295 model that posted here in classifieds three weeks ago. Was sold Friday to very nice Wyoming couple. Though they saw it in on another site I posted therein.
Thanks for all the support I received here, I hung up the full-time keys, You guys are the best!
I just checked rv trader. My search parameters were 1997-2001 Foretravel under $70,000. I got three results, all here at MOT. Of the three, one is pending. The other two are the "twins" a 1999 and a 2000 40' U320. They have the same paint scheme and both have the headlight upgrade. There are some differences inside, but they both left the factory with the same floor plan. Both are priced at $69,500.
We're in the MOT lot right now. Directly across from me is a 2016 IH45. I remember it sitting outside the factory when it was new. As I recall, the list price was over a million. Current asking price is just $529,500.
Guess I need to get serious about my 1999 40' U270. Havent listed it for sale anywhere. Mark
From what I've seen here at MOT, admittedly only two coaches, we've got ours priced too low. The "twins" are six and seven years newer, have a slide and Aquahot, yes, but more than double what we're asking?
Wow with the prices these FT are getting I am feeling especially grateful for my latest purchase. I feel like I stole it at $12k...
In the 1995-2003 Bus style (approximate dates) as far as anyone knows, there were only maybe 2-2.5 K coaches where built. They are some of the best IMHO.
Supply and demand, plus how many are turds, and how many are still on the road?
Happy 4th
Chris
We were at MOT a couple of weeks ago and oddly enough, they only had 5 or 6 foretravels on the lot. I asked one of the salesmen about that and he told me a lot of the them are sold before they are listed. They have a list of interested buyers and sometimes they are taken before they hit the lot. Also, they are looking for units to sell...... Weird market right now.
Let diesel get back into the $4.00/gal range and availability will increase.
If your still looking I have a 2001 on forum classified
