I will hopefully take delivery soon of a new to me 2008 Nimbus. Having MOT do complete fluid and filter change. They don't do transmissions. The coach will be in Dallas. Anyone had good experiences with an authorized service center within a reasonable distance?
Thanks
Nothing complicated about a filter and fluid change on the Allison. Any shade tree level owner can do it. Just get filter kit (by the transmission serial number on the left side of your transmission) and correct quantity of Transynd TES668. If Allison 3000, buy the 5 gallon pail. That will leave you about one quart left over, but is more economical than buying by the gallon.
But, if you choose to hire it out-- any Allison dealer should have the Allison filter kit and the new generation synthetic fluid TES 668 and probably does several dozen of these services a day.
Res. You could always head over to Nacogdoches Motorhome Service. They do everything. Not as spiffy as MOT but good guys who know what they are doing. Bruce is the owner. He's at:

I just exchanged emails with MOT service director Derek Diverdi and he assured me that they do Still do Allision fluid service.
If you are at MOT, please seek out Derek and resolve any potential misunderstanding.
They did a Transynd swap fir me on my last visit, so that is why I inquired with Derek.
Thanks so much for the info. I may have misunderstood them.
When I was at Nacogdoches in 2019. I was sent to Stewart Stevenson located in Longview for Allison service. They sold me the factory rebuilt transmission i currently have. Reason for new transmission was the dreaded destruction, wear and tear of the dampner. If you feel vibration in your butt at 55 - 65. If you with pry bar can move dampner. Guess what? You might be in need of heavy service. Yes I could have gone with rebuild by SS. I chose factory for warrenty. Easy access to the shop. Hotels are low cost in Longview.
