Title: Still Looking For Used Foretravel
Post by: wog099 on June 22, 2021, 03:56:15 pm
I posted this Considering Buying a Previously Owned Foretravel (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=42372.0)
post a while back and received very good information from you all.  I have been concentrating on a U320 year 2000 or 2001, or 2003 - 2005; just leaving out 2002 as I heard some negative feedback on it.
One question is that I see later year Phenix models and wonder if any of them are good.  I have heard too much negative on the Nimbus so haven't considered it.  I will not get any year model after they started with the PDF so it probably needs to be 2008 or older.  So do you have any feedback on getting a Phenix rather than a U320?
Thanks,
Wade Griffin

Wade

I cant help you with your question, but the only thing against the 2002 Foretravels is they went from a "seam" on the end caps to "seamless" - almost all of them had to be repaired at least once,  but once correctly repaired, (almost all were by the factory or Xtreme at one point or another) they have been stable and no issues since.

I have a 2000, but wouldn't hesitate to buy in the range 2000-2003 - those were some of the best years with production numbers falling after that.

Add to 2002 many failures of the air operated big awning and a 1 year only slide mechanism

Wade, take a look at Foretravel Motorhomes For Sale | Nacogdoches, TX (https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/used-foretravel-motorhomes-for-sale-Nacogdoches-texas--inventory?condition=pre-owned&make=foretravel&pg=1) you might see something that you like.

We've been kind of looking at the "twins" and if they are still there when we get to Nac in July we'll look closer. Sounds like your budget is a bit higher than that, though.

There is a 2006 Foretravel Phenix 440 at MOT, but I know nothing about the Phenix model.  Does anyone have any feedback, good or bad on the Phenix model?  It is pre-def so it hits on my radar there.
Thanks for any info shared,
Wade Griffin

That Phenix MOT has is an awesome looking rig!  A bit out of my budget personally.

Like you I have been looking/researching Foretravel for a couple years now.  In about 60 days I will be selling my house and going straight to full time RV life!  A couple others are on my radar, but FT is at the top.  Similarly eyeing the 2000-2008ish coaches.
