Arrived today at Rainbows End RV Park in Livingston for an appointment with Smart Weigh, as we begin our summer travels. Our first outing in this new to us Foretravel. As I put out the slide, I noticed it seemed to hang up for a moment and then went out as expected. Watching the seal close, I noticed it didn't close all the way in the upper front corner, as viewed from the inside. Went out and checked and it appears the slide has moved toward the rear of the coach. Large gap at front of slide between slide and coach wall and a narrow gap toward at rear of slide between coach wall and slide. Tried to get decent photos. Circled the corners but you can see the difference from top to bottom at each end of slide. I did move the slide back in and then out to see if any change. There was none but slide worked well with no abnormal noises that I heard.
So has anyone had this happen before? If so, how was it resolved? K
I plan on placing a call to NAC as I'm not to far away if there is nothing I can do myself.
Any and all help in understanding what happened is appreciated.
Bill, my slide was a bit misaligned. One end, front end, was lower than the rear end. Keith Risch adjusted the slide mechanism nd leveled the slide front to rear as best it could be. Look to see what the gap looks like along the bottom when the slide is closed. For now if the gap is bigger at the front make sure the coach is level side to side but pehaps down a bit in the front when you bring it in.
It appears the slide may have have hung up for a moment when slide was first deployed. The slide is very functional now and I followed your suggestion Roger when first pulled the slide back in. On the outside upper front corner, I see the slide is not flush with the coach body as it is at the upper rear corner. May have hung on a lock pin? The slide seals good and is functional. So when I can will have the slide adjusted and get a good inspection of all components. Thanks Roger for your assistance.
Maybe next time lean slightly to the Pss side and level front to rear.
