Title: Factory Tours Not
Post by: turbojack on July 08, 2021, 10:42:38 am
Got back to Fot to get the wacky  Active Air fixed.  It then hit me that today is Thursday, the day they do tours. Go to the front and ask about taking the factory tour. Was told only way to take a tour was if you had a coach in production.  Said it's been that way for last  year  and half and didn't know if or when that would change.

To be fair, Covid has limited tours and visits for many companies. I expect it to go back to normal as the crisis wanes. If you want, you can go to the front page of the NY Times, click on the number of cases and then go to a map of each county in the U.S. along with the cases per 100,000 and a graph showing how it's doing. While your town may be doing fine, other places may be struggling. Tours bring in people from many geographic areas along with possible risks.

Of course - Covid must be taken into account.

But here is a loyal customer who has owned 4 of their coaches, including a 2014 IH45, asking for a little look around.  They couldn't break somebody loose for a hour to take him through the factory?  It's not that big - I know cuz we took the tour back in the Good Ole Days.  They could tell him to wear a mask and stay 6 feet from the tour guide...if Covid is the big fear.

I attended a tech talk by James T. at the same time a factory tour was conducted during the Grand Villa Reunion held end of May 2021. Also, no masks required nor worn during the Motorcade event.
