The paint on our coach is in pretty nice shape given the age (18 yrs). There is some checking in the black, but the rest of it is in very nice shape. There's a few rock chips, but nothing big. We decided to have the coach ceramic coated by Bob Moses Ceramic Coating in Lake Havasu City, AZ. We dropped it off on Saturday the 10th and picked it up the following Saturday. Man, what a difference! This thing shines like a new one! I have not yet washed it, but supposedly it makes it much easier to wash. I will also use de ionized water to rinse, and they say to use a leaf blower to dry...no towels!
It's not cheap, but comes with a 8 year warranty on the product and 3 years on the application. I heard about this from a buddy that has had a few coaches done and he sure likes the ease of cleaning too.
The pictures don't do it justice. We went through an agriculture inspection on the way home (driving through California) and the attendant actually said "man, you got that baby all shined up" when we pulled up. :)
Looks amazing! How many miles are on that coach?
Turtle Wax Ceramic car wash does an awesome job also, if you don't mind doing the work yourself.
So included is proper cleaning and polishing before ceramic coating is applied? The ceramic coating are really amazing. Looking forward to hearing how the bugs wash off. Looks great, but it did before too. 👍👍
They ask you to bring it washed. I had it washed the week before and of course it rained for 5 minutes just as we were getting out of Vegas. Drove down to Havasu and they had no issues at drop off with the current condition. They clean/polish and make it as good as it gets before applying the ceramic.
It looks better now for sure.
How much $ ?
This depends on the franchise you take it to I believe. I got a "buddy deal" at the franchise in Havasu for $90/foot.
$90/Ft is very reasonable considering the work that goes into doing it correctly. Especially if they do any surface corrections.
Very nice.
Have all the tools and supplies to do mine myself, but waiting until cooler weather and for my RV shelter to be put up. 13x40 has been on order for over 6 months and still not done. Dont want to spend days doing a serious detail and CCoat then leave it parked 24/7 out in the rain and sun.
Feeling prit-ty darn good about that Mexican vacation now, eh dood?
What is the life expectancy of the coating?
Is there a guarantee?
They use the Sensha 8-year Crystal Glow product. They provide a 5-year service contract with the installation.
