Walked into the garage and my gas-mono alarm was on in the FT. I went in and even though it was plugged into ac, it wasn't charging. I checked the Heart 2500 and it was cold and dead. I rapped on it and it started working for now. I imagine it's failing after all these years.
FT sells and exact bolt in replacement but it's only 2000 watts. I don't have solar nor will I get it. Would you go ahead and get this one. It does work with the heart inside monitor, plug and play so to speak. It just concerns me to go smaller than original 2500
Any help would be appreciated
Can I clean anything in the Heart and restore it? Contacts etc.
If you choose to replace, get Vectron or Magnum pure sine wave inverter. Way better than the square wave Heart. 2000 or more watts will work fine. I used 2000 watts for years
A pure sine wave inverter will cut your microwave cooking time by over half. They need the 177 volt or so peak and they don't get it with a square wave.

Open it up, contacts on board can be cleaned. I just swamped out my 2500 for a 2000, because the charge circuit went out completely, but wasn't the board. 2000 works fine. I'm cheap, and besides, I have the charging part down, and it works great for me.
You could also just add a standalone converter, have done that many times, as long as the inverter part is working. Which it probably is.
Have sold lots of these over 10 yrs. never had a dud.You can get them any amp output, price goes down with amps.

Without knowing exactly how you use your inverter, your question for me is difficult to answer. I can tell you what I did.
I upgraded my Freedom Heart 2500 to a lower watt rated unit, the Xantrex SW2012. It has worked fine for all my needs. The highest draw I have is my microwave, we also have a Samsung residential refrigerator always on. My Xantrex SW2012 serves me well. I do watch, and not use other appliances when I use the microwave. I also have asked my wife to run only one appliance at a time, as we also use a electric cooktop, a pop corn popper, a juicer, etc.
When I upgraded, I wanted a sine wave unit that runs the microwave much better. You are not getting the maximum heating capacity of your microwave, by not using a sine wave inverter. The second thing I wanted was increasing the battery amp charger to 100 amps. With hindsight now, I do wish I'd gone to the SW3012, not for the watt rating, however for amp charging to 150 amps instead of the SW2012.
This unit is Xantrex's latest and is less money than my SW2012, and has Bluetooth. Before buying the "plug in" unit you ask about, and budget is a concern, you may concider the following Xantrex unit specs. If you get one make sure it is the " XC Pro" version, as that is the newer unit. Xantrex Freedom Xc Pro 2000 Inverter/Charger - 2000w - 100a - 120v - 12v (https://www.hodgesmarine.com/xan818-2010-xantrex-freedom-xc-pro-2000-invertercharger--2.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0emHBhC1ARIsAL1QGNfuHkfONK61E_UrlqHr-olXPTyES7pyfh51yy1UsdBCgChzf9j_I0UaAn5dEALw_wcB)
Also the "Pro" version let's you connect with Bluetooth. You might check with the mfg to see if they have corrected the pairing issue, or even if it is an issue that is mentioned in reviews. So....not knowing your needs, and budget and experience, makes this difficult to give you a yes or no answer. I do recommend the info on the following retailers web site as helpful to gather information.

Replaced my heart freedom2500 with the magnum 2812. I did have to modify the mounting bracket a bit which was a pain doing some welding but the unit is working great!
So many choices. I'm leaning towards the Xantrex 2000 Pro. Any reasons?? not to use it. Jack Lewis is happy with his

I am willing to sell to you and ship it from Victoria, BC, Canada.
One would be wise to follow Wyatts' advice on inverters. I believe he has the optimum opinion on what is required. Do a search.
Ok. Ordered the Xantrex ProXC 3000 with the bluetooth panel. The SW2012's were back ordered until October. Called Xantrex support and very helpful. Here we go, the next project!
Thanks for all the help. MyGreenOutdoors.com had the best pricing on it, $1180.42 and $94.90, free shipping
