What would cause the main electric to not be working? I have power at the pole and into the FT but only 12 volts inside. Is there a reason for this to happen? The last time I was at the FT the transfer switch was humming but it has hummed for 8 years. I store the FT at the farm and have my neighbor check on it when not there. So I am working from a distance. The display panel is showing no voltage. He checked the cord and it is light(meaning there is power from the pole) The cord is plugged in to the wet bay outlet but no 120 inside the FT. thank you John
Think you need to be there and then troubleshoot from there, all we can do is speculate what it may be.
Does your coach have any inline surge protector devices that may have tripped? I have a Surge Guard 50a unit on mine and if it thinks anything is wrong, it will cut power to the coach.
Agree-- need to determine the cause of the problem.
Good place to start is the ATS.
No power on the IN side means an issue toward the shore power outlet. If shore power cord on a reel, check contacts. If you have a surge protector, it could also be the issue.
If power IN, but not OUT of the ATS, the ATS is faulty. Replace it. Short term work around is to connect the shore power IN to the OUT side that goes to the main 120 VAC breaker box.
All this presumes that you are safe working around 120/240 VAC.
If no cord real and using the twist lock receptacle, make sure it is twisted tight. If loose may not let power through.
What is a good source for ATS?
