The side window over my couch has day and night MCD shades. The front mount for the rollers has allowed the shade to ease down. How are the rollers mounted and how should I re-afix the rollers, please?
Thanks a bunch, Rudy
Rudy, the frame that hold the rollers snaps into clips that are attached to the bottom of the cabinet behind the valence box.
You need to remove the valence box to have reasonable access. I used a 12" impact driver extension to make it easier to get at the screws. The clips have one screw each that goes into a 1/4 plywood cabinet bottom. If the screw has pulled loose you can move the clip a bit. If you open up the bottom of the overhead cabinet (not easy in the slide) you coukd add a 1/2" backer for better screw holding.
This type of screw works well in thin wood. Deep, coarse threads bite and hold. You can put a drop of wood glue on the screw for a more secure hold. Thank you Sir
I think I took the bottom out of the storage cabinet and added a piece of wood to re-enforce it. 1998 U270.
Now, how to get valance box off. Mine is a padded wood top with wood sides. The sides have a screw up through the horizontal plate below the window and a screw into the top valance. How is the top valance screwed into place?
Side pieces have a screw up through the sill and a metal bracket partway up. Upper pieces have screws through a 1x1 on the inside at the top.
