Pamela & Mike of Longview were FANTASTICALLY kind and generous to share their FT experience and wisdom with me over the weekend.
Had a great first trip up from Nacogdoches to visit them...
That is until during return trip, my throttle cable stuck and I couldn't get the coach to want to slow down...
The mirror got ripped off as I crossed Loop 224 trying to get coach into MoT parking lot...
Nothing like looking at oncoming traffic who have no clue you aren't about to stop because you can't...
Then I had to really question my decision to go into a parking lot with wonderfully expensive machines that I was about to hit if I couldn't stop in time...
I was very lucky the mirror was all that was hurt in the adventure...
John,
What throttle system do you have:
King Control
Air throttle
Other/electronic
Hey Brett...
Not positive, but believe it's King Control...
I'm still the RV neophyte learning his way...
97 would be King Control unless it's been removed.
Yes, quite a few have been converted to air throttle-- need to know what we are working with to help with diagnosing the issue.
Keith Risch at MOT would be who I would have look at it since you are there.
Make sure you have 2 return springs in place, they are located near the fuel shutoff solenoid, may be as simple as that.
Glad it wasn't more serious. :o
I got to ask...just curious..."the mirror got ripped off". By what? Trying to imagine what you hit that didn't damage anything else.
Chuck...
Best my adrenaline addled brain can think or recall, is I clipped a yield sign as I made the turn doing faster than I care to relive...
The remedy for a stuck throttle is to turn off the key!
Steering will be a little touch, but brakes and suspension will be just the same as always, since you will still have air pressure.
Glad you are ok.
Mike and Pam have been a great help and I hope to meet them soon.
