Title: Ultra Leather?
Post by: Cpt_kludge on August 29, 2021, 05:13:58 pm
Does anyone know of a good cleaner for the Faux Leather (naugahide?) on the pilot & co-pilot seats as well as the inside of the door and the dashboard (under the cover)? They are sticky to the touch anywhere except where you actually sit.
Will try Armor All, but have not had good results on other vinyl seats in the past.
Thanks
Joe

I too have had BAD results with armor all. I would never use again.  Caused material to fail completely in one summer. I had used on a motorcycle seat. Also made it in unsafely slick. You literally would slide off the back during acceleration

We've used Mothers VLR product with pretty good success. It certainly cut through the "sticky stuff" ...

Some stains it won't help...

This cleaner is the absolute best you can ever find. I haven't looked online but I buy it at a upholstery supply house that sells to upholstery shops. Once you use this you will never use anything else.
Just looked online and Amazon has it of course.

Ultra Products, makers of UltraLeather, has a Care section on their website

Cleaning and Care | ultrafabrics (https://www.ultrafabricsinc.com/cleaning-and-care)

basically - soap and water, but here is their document on recommended cleaners (ArmorAll is not one of them)

We used krud kutter on the entire ceiling because it felt tacky like you are saying. Worked great.
We also used it on the pilot and copilot seats in the areas that are not leather. Removed all grime with no issues.

Hmmm,
Ultraleather has on its list, 70% Rubbing alcohol, Fantastic, 409, Lysol Wipes and H2O2, Those are easy to try and I have them :) If they don't clear it up I will try the Malco!
Thanks for the quick feedback!

I use Bluemagic Convertible Top Cleaner and Protectant.  Order it from Amazon. I don't know if another brand would be better, but it worked so well for us that we now keep a bottle on hand for regular cleaning. The only reason I ever tried it was I had some and thought, "what the heck." Works like magic.

Good topic to know....entire interior of our 2001, aside from the pilot/copilot seats feel like they have glue all over them. So far have cleaned a few spots with rubbing alchohol, Simple green, fantastic, but none are working that good....soap and water just seem to make it worse.....good to hear on the Malco, have used it in the past, will get some coming.
