Today I replaced the 32 year old Moen faucet in the coach bathroom.
What a nightmare!
First, open the door and the tub/shower is on the left, toilet center, and the sink/cabinet angled from the right towards the door.
Lower cabinet is tamborin door with a middle shelf. One must lay on their right side (I am a lefty) reach in with the right arm and hand (not enough room to get left arm in there also, or even see in) as the wall is behind the right shoulder.
Then, by feel only, ( I call it the Braille method) one has to reach in and unscrew the water connections, the faucet holddown nuts, the drain stopper connector, the P-tube, and the tube on the bottom of the sink.
Not bad if my thumbs weren't almost useless due to arthritis. Hard to hold anything AND find the connections blindly with just four fingers. No room to get both arms and shoulders in the opening.
Git it all done and guess what?? NO LEAKS (after I took the drain piping apart and put plumber's putty on the contact points of the sink. Luckily I had my 9" Channelocks to work with.
One thing I forgot to mention. After getting both of the supply lines disconnected and the faucet hold down nuts loose, I noticed there is a screw just inside the left side of the cabinet holding the middle shelf in place. Remove the screw and the P-tube and I was able to maneuver/lift the shelf off the vent tubes and remove it.
