So as a time filler between projects I decided to be proactive and change out the fuel nozzle in the aqua hot. When i recoiled it from freezing DW was concerned about outflow cash flow so i held off from replacement of the fuel nozzle. I operated it on the prior to 2007 nozzle and it would smoke during operation. So after changing the filter and nozzle it would not fire up. The original ignition unit failed to fire. Rudy sent out a new module and it fired right up and proceeded to cover the coach in the smoke cloud. After running for about five minutes it was able to burn off all the remaining fuel from prior failed starts. Proactively i ordered replacement capacitors for the control box and installed yesterday. Ref Webasto SG 1553/12v controller Aqua hot 431 (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=35206.0) Two of them were just starting to leak so was a good call. Put the box back in last night and it fired up. Zero smoke and cycled threw several start stop cycles with no issues. Turned up the tempering valve till sink water temperature is at 117 deg. Will let DW decide if its to hot. Current outside air temperature is about a 100 so it seems odd working on the heater but will need in a couple days when we head back east to Michigan. I have extra capacitors if anyone needs a set.
Thank you Rudy for your priceless support!
Scott
You be most welcome
Hey Rudy, I hear you usually attend the Quartzsite RV show in Jan. Are you going next year? I'd like you to do a service/check on mine if you're going to be there.
I have never been there and have no plans to go there. To much work in Southeast Texas to leave at that time.
John Carrillo is usually there but is not going this year. John Carrillo RV Hydronic Heating Specialist ~ Heat My RV (https://heatmyrv.com/)
Go to Colorado or Texas.
