All,
New to the group, lots off great info and people here.
We currently have a toy hauler trailer and diesel truck but looking to upgrade to a Class A Diesel. I've done a ton on online research and looks like FT is a great fit.
Looking for old pre DEF, side radiator, 400hp and up, at least 1 slide, 36ft ideally with sleeping for 4(2 adult and 2 teens)
The early 2000s FT 320 36 foot looks like it would fit my needs.
I'm in San Diego, would love to hook up with an owners group or find someone with similar FT and take a look.
I've seen some FT with a long double length couch, does the entire length fold out to beds? That wold be great.
Any tips or advice is welcome
Cheers
Bob
36ft U320s of that generation are a little harder to find. I have a 40ft 2001 in Prescott AZ you're welcome to view. Will be in Quartzite with it in a few weeks.
Basically half the slide is a jack knife, the other half is stationary for the dining table/seating area. You can fit two adults on the sofa but it's not the world's most comfortable sleep. Fine for short trips but you'd need a different solution if you wanted to full-time in it.
Read up on the slide issues with the 2002 models, it's a unique year.
I more or less made the same transition as your (5er to U320) and am happy I did. There is a much, much steeper learning curve with the FT and it takes a while to get comfortable problem solving on your own. The flip side to that is that you aren't in a glorified cardboard box anymore.
We will be back in San Diego tomorrow. Give me a few days to unpack from our trip and your welcome to come over and see it.
I'll PM you.
If you can't find anything that sleeps 4 you could do what I did
and make a dinette like I did so you have an extra bed
Take a look at the 36 foot 2002 just posted for sale on here! Really nice coach and well taken care of. Not mine, but I have been in it and it is priced right, with battle born lithium batts and solar. This coach is located in Yellowstone NP, not that far from you. Hope this helps!
Hi Bob,
I've got a 36' U295 that has served my family very well. We get the rig into many places that list a 35' maximum length. I removed the jack knife couch and replaced with custom bunk beds for my teenage boys. I can share some photos if interested. Will also be headed to San Clemente early next week and then back to phoenix end of the week if you wanted to see in person.
Welcome
Place your "wanted ad" in the classified section.
That's how we found ours.
I agree with Joe that is a nice coach. We were in it when visiting Joe at Yellowstone.
