Hello again, I am trying to figure out what the correct filter for my 1995 Allison MD3060R is. I have found references to 29506337 6" sump filter but my manual says I have an external filter AC PF897. I have not seen an external filter anywhere, am I missing it?

No external filters for your Allison transmission.
Best advice is to take your transmission serial number to your local Allison dealer. They will have an Allison filter kit with filters, gaskets and instructions. Likely to also have the lowest price on the new ATF-- TES 668.
Thanks for the advice. I like to find as much as can online. I just don't have much time to drive around and find this stuff. I was able to buy 5 gallons of the new TES668 through Napa online for $160! Pretty happy with that. Glad to hear about the strange external filter listing. Allison's website is less than helpful even with the serial number.
I you don't see it, you don't have it. 2 six inch filters and torque exactly because they're metal bolts going into aluminum.
