I am beginning a search for a new drivers side mirror top hat (3rd mirror at top). Old one has corrosion and peeling chrome. In addition the mirror became loose on the road. As temp solution I put silicone on 3 sides, which will hold until I find a new one.
Anyone know removal process and installation process? I'll call FT parts Monday to see if they have stock or source.
I ordered top hats from Ramco and installed them myself. Pretty simple really. They are attached to the main mirror housing with two screws. If you can tilt the top glass section in the main mirror in all the way you should be able to see the mounting screws above the glass. Depending on who installed them, it is possible that your top hats may have some kind of adhesive sealant material in addition to the screws.
Top hats are available directly from Ramco. Call them to order.

Correction to above post: You push the top of the upper glass section IN all the way to see the screws. See instructions below:

Installed a top hat mirror, passenger side before our current trip.
Coming across I20 through Shreveport (ROUGH) extra wind resistance/weight/rough road caused the entire mirror to fold over, the old nylon bushings were done.
Had new aluminum bushings delivered to the next RV park.
Had about 140 miles of copilot input for lane changes.
Good info in both posts. Thanks!
Update: We are in Nacogdoches, and FOT has the chrome top hat mirror in stock for $196.88, minus the 10% Motorcade discount. Since we are here and the top hat is in stock I bought it.
No chance to install yet.
