Title: Pulling out the generator
Post by: Lt403 on October 26, 2021, 03:42:12 pm
Hi everyone,
I just want to be sure these are the nuts and bolts to disconnect the exhaust from the generator.

Looks like there's a gasket in between the connection, does it need to be replaced?

Thanks
Frank

I would say Yes and Yes.  Gasket might be saveable since I have had some luck but also some were stuck and when you pull the pipes apart the gasket wants to stick to part one side and part the other as it tears.

Metal gaskets can be reused if not wrinkled after removal. Asbestos gaskets usually tear or fall apart on removal. The only metal gaskets that cannot be reused is the crush type. They are imprinted once and cannot be reused because of that. They will leak.
