Title: Passed Emissions
Post by: jor on October 26, 2021, 04:33:58 pm
Well, once again the rig passed Arizona emissions with flying colors. Actually, better than ever in that it has a nice, shiny new reconditioned fuel injection pump. Opacity reading was only point one with a standard of 40.0 so I'm pleased. Always great to get emissions behind me as it takes me 20 minutes to get to the pavement and then 25 miles to the testing facility.

The King Cruise Control works fine with the new air throttle too so all is good. Vrooooooommm....

Did you install the air throttle or have it done?

Congratulations. Since Dub and I have similar engines we certainly are interested in the air throttle and continued use of king control for cruise.

Yes we are. I put a new control board on mine 3 years ago and lately hitting the brake sometimes doesn't disengage the cruise.. Sure want a back up plan for when this one completely fails.

Funny!  I planned to go today, but got sidetracked.

Emission inspection is probably the only time I have floored the accelerator.

I installed it. I wrote up a how-to. Just need a couple more prices and I'll post it.

Better than the old system though. I always had a hard time maintaining the speed. Re flooring, I do that all the time!

To be clear, I installed an air throttle but am still using the King cruise function. I had the same problem with the cruise not disengaging a few years ago. I replaced the two brake pressure switches and that cured the problem.
