Put my snow tires on this afternoon. I tried using a shovel for removing the tires,
per Scotts suggestion and it made the job way easier. Thanks Scott, great idea.
For replacing the tires I stayed with the prybar.
What are snow tires? Never ran them even when I lived in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
In BC you have to have snow tires or I could get away with chains but I am not
putting on chains on a motorhome. I have driven both ways with snow tires
and without them in the snow and I much prefer snow tires. As I ski I drive in
snow and I don't want to wait it out as the best skiing is in deep snow.
Pics?
One of my most fond memories from my high school days in Omaha... My Dad would throw the Town & Country snow tires on our '62 VW Beetle, and we would go out and play in the snow. That little car would do great until you hit a deep drift...it would ride up on the snow bank and the rear tires would loose traction. We could always get going again by both of us pushing the car off the snow pile back to thinner snow.
you might try these AutoSock. The Original Winter Traction Device since 1998. (https://autosock.com/) I bought a set, easy to store and lightweight. I don't plan on using them they're for "just in case"
There is a picture of them. I have a set of autosocks to make me legal when I coming
back from a trip in October when I have to have chains with me. If there is snow
and I have to chain up I would probably wait a day until I don't have to use them.
I don't plan on ever using them.
