I have been frustrated with dim toad lights and bad grounds
for some time now. I have been towing it since 05, so connections
are old and so am I. does anyone have an opinion on the good
or bad of magnetic tow lights.
Our bulb HF tow lights worked OK but were a little dim in the day. The new LED HF lights are the ticket. https://www.harborfreight.com/12v-magnetic-led-towing-light-kit-64282.html
Don't let the wires rub against the paint. They WILL make marks.

We have been using magnetic toad lights for two years. They work okay. You need to have strong batteries in them.
Once the batteries get a little week you start to have problems and that can be frustrating. You always need a back up set of batteries. I find that the Duracell Black Optimum batteries last longer.
A lot of vehicles have plastic bumpers. Do you have a place to put the magnetic lights?
Sometimes I wish we would have wired the Jeep with the standard light set up. Good luck.
I've wired lights on a couple of toads but prefer the roof magnetics as our bikes obscure the car's regular lights. Anyhow, I used Harbor Freight lights for awhile but they kept falling off the car and their quality was poor. I ended up buying these. They are much more expensive but are a quality product. This link brings up the manufacturer's site. They were a bit less expensive on Amazon but I see they are not currently available there.
