Title: Starter switch U320
Post by: oldmattb on November 29, 2021, 01:46:19 pm
What is the dash starter switch for my 1998?  Recently I have had to push it and jiggle to activate the starter.  So far, the switch works, but I would like to replace it before failure.

Probably a Ford Taurus, Chrysler Cordoba, Chevy van!

NAPA numbers of KS6603 for the switch mechanism and KS6491 for the lock cylinder

Thanks guys!  I will address it when I get back..  At least that will be my plan.  Out camping for a week.  One more start, and I will be back home.

So you can remove the lock separating it from the switch and see which half your having issues with. You can operate the lock separately and the same with the switch using a common screwdriver. Personally my guess is the lock cylinder and the switch is okay,
