Does anyone know of a source for a replacement damper (see attached PDF) on the transmission?
The damper has walked enough to show wear (see attached picture).
Coach is at IP Trucks in McKinney TX and they are working with FOT to find a replacement damper. According to FOT the original damper is no longer available.
I've found a lot of posts about the damper and the P-3 issue but did not find any on a replacement source for the damper.
In May of 2020 Stewart and Stephenson in Longview, TX repaired P-3 carrier on the coach. The issue may have returned but I still need a replacement damper.
Neither Stewart and Stephenson, or Mot could not suggest any source. I spoke to Keith Risch today and he is looking for a source for us.

Forgot the name,when I was searching for a damper there was a place that would rebuild your damper,may be worth a search and phone call.

Sorry it has taken so long to update.
HISTORY: During a normal inspection, I spotted what looked like metal to metal wear on the damper on the back of the transmission.
RESOLUTION: The damper does not need to be replaced. Physical inspection indicates it is not worn and no movement (walking) at varying RPMs. No transmission P-3 carrier issue. See details below.
UNRESOLVED REPLACEMENT PART ISSUE: Metaldyne damper P/# TD 640607. Never determined conclusively whether a replacement damper is or is not available. FOT purchased the dampers from Metaldyne which was bought out by American Axle and Manufacturing (AAM).
DETAILS: I have no truck mechanical experience, so the following is offered for general knowledge only.
Originally took the coach to IP Trucks 712 N. Beach Street, McKinney, TX 76111, phone 972.632.3737 and then to Inland Truck Parts and Service, 4324 N. Elm Street (Rte # 277) Denton, TX 76207, phone 940.381.2414.
IP truck pulled the damper off, unsuccessfully searching for a replacement damper including several discussions with FOT. Brian at FOT reached out to AAM several times but never heard back from them.
I also talked to Brian at FOT; MOT; left voice messages and sent emails to AAM; and took the damper to several truck parts including Inland. Everyone who looked at the damper said that it did not look physically damaged and should be tested.
While at the Inland parts counter, Brad, the counterman, reached out to the AAM representative seeking a cross reference for the Metaldyne part number. The rep could not find a reference but did get a person from engineering on the phone. They concluded that AAM may have a replacement but could not find any parts number reference.
Brad sent me to Ryan Walters, the Inland Service Manager. He and a tech looked the damper over and agreed it did not look physically damaged and suggested that if they had the drive shaft they could test and possibly balance the drive train before seeking a replacement damper.
I returned to IP Truck, had them install the damper and took the coach to Inland. IP Trucks did their best and were very open. I would not hesitate to use them for general service in the future.
Inland Truck pulled the rear axle and ran the engine at varying RPMs and then ran the engine with transmission engaged with no indication of damper movement. Inland found no indication of an issue with the transmission P-3 carrier. We painted over the marks on the damper and road tested with no wear in the painted surface. Will continue to monitor.
I highly recommend Inland Truck's parts and service departments and will be using them in the future.
