Title: Dometic RM 1282 bad solenoid??

Looking for suggestions...Dometic RM 1282
Fridge not working on gas, works fine with AC
Getting 12 volts to solenoid from board...
Since this model is discontinued, any suggestions for matching up the solenoid if that's what is bad?

WELCOME.

Have you confirmed that the gas valve is not opening?

Lots of things can cause the refrigerator to not work on propane.

When turned to gas do you hear the ignitor clicking?

Those are available from any number of places on the net. But like Wolf said you may very well have another issue. Those valves are not prone to failure. Do you have spark at the burner, is the burner clean, is the orifice stopped up?

If the solenoid is bad, the flame will not light with a barbque lighter. If it does light (as soon as you turn it on) it's not the solenoid. The orifice would clog slowly and give problems over time rather than all of a sudden so most likely not that.

I did have a bad solenoid on mine and ended up getting a used burner unit including the solenoid because they are hard to find. Try Northwest RV if necessary. They have old stuff.

Yup, post exactly how far into the "works on propane" yours gets and we can help with troubleshooting:

When refrigerator is turned on (and no shore power OR gas selected)-- much better if you can have someone else turn it on (inside coach) while you have the outside access door open to troubleshoot:

You hear the IGNITOR  clicking.

You hear/feel the GAS VALVE OPENING.

FLAME starts, but goes out. If so, does gas valve click closed?

FLAME stays going, but is small/weak?

So if you have power, is the solenoid coil open or does it have the correct resistance. The coils are available separately. Can you hear the solenoid pull and have gas flow? Is the igniter firing? Can you light the stove top upstairs? I replace the regulator after learning they should be replaced every decade. Didn't make any difference. I Did find the inlet screen to the glass valve plugged. Cleaning that resolved my low flame issue. I was never able to find part that were affordable.
