Title: Slide Operation
Post by: danilaprepeleac on January 13, 2022, 10:33:50 pm
Bought this coach  way back in the summer of 21 and the Slide would not open.
after looking everywhere I finally found the problem  and like to share.
I started with making sure the motor was working.
So I disconnected the motor from its suply wire and hooked it to a battery via jumper cables and the motor was working. ok so the motor works.
I was not getting power at the main red cable that was comming to the solenoid .
upon checking the terminals at the fuse panel(which I had no idea that those were acctualy fuses and breakers)I noticed that all but the HWH terminals were hot on the right side and all were hot on the left side.
And them a friend of mine told me that this were acctual breakers  and I need to change that.
ok took off the copper band that was connecting them ,removed the hwh breaker and off to the store to find a replacement.  while at the store they had one but with opposite bolting pattern that could not work.
so I googled the part and some interesting reading.
that was a resealable breaker ok!!
upon closer inspection it had a push button on the left side which would make it accessible without having to take it off in order to reset. Good
the store did not have one to sell , so I went back to the Motorhome  and instaled it and walla i have a working Slide.
one little resealable breaker that I could have pushed 8 months ago and boom.
but you know that learning this the hard way will be forever  seeded in my memory.
Such a simple way to fix and trouble shoot not sure how many here were aware of this breaker but nobody ever mentioned it and I am glad I found the problem without having to fork some 4 k to change this and that .
thank you for all your great input in the previous treads.

Foretravel, on the older model coaches, used BOTH auto reset and manual reset circuit breakers.  On the B-2126 Automotive Wiring Diagram for our '93 U280, both types are depicted.  The manual reset breakers in the diagram actually show the little reset button on the side of the breaker.

Your 2003 U320 electrical system employs MANY circuit breakers.  You may encounter both types, randomly sprinkled about.  Always look for a reset button, just in case!

Good detective work and nice find!  Now you're in business.  FYI, you can find those breakers on Amazon.  I replaced the ones for my dash A/C compressor clutch proactively when the one for the condenser fan quit a month or three back.

You now know more about your coach electrics than most so called RV mechanics will know,  Good work.
