I have a 1997 U295 with the Freedom 29 inverter. My issue is being plugged into 50amp service where I store my coach, noticed my batteries are down a little. Checking at the surge protector, both lines are fine(note: surge protector is installed after ATS's. Residential refrigerator is running fine. Any Ideas?? Also a 12v fuse was blown and all closet lights from kitchen back are inoperative(12v) fuses fine....As always, thanks in advance.
Freedom 29 inverter or Freedom 25 inverter? IIRC Freedom 25 was stock on your coach.
Which batteries are down? Chassis (start) batteries or coach (house) batteries?
Sorry, Freedom 25.....Coach batteries, Start are fine.
Did you check the front of the inverter for popped circuit breaker button?
All 3 seemed to be fine, the top one may have popped but not sure was a little stiffer than the others when pushed.
The top circuit breaker button is for the battery charger.
Try turning inverter switch (on front of unit) off, wait a minute or so, then turn back on. IE "reboot" it.
Check voltage on the coach batteries (with a multimeter, at the battery posts).
If the coach batteries are not fully charged, the charger should automatically boot up in BULK mode, and voltage should be 14+ volts at the batteries.
Thank you very much Chuck, will head to coach later.
Hi John,
I have a 98 U295 and the inverter is a Freedom 25.
The switch should be in the off position always...that tells the inverter that you want to use the control panel inside. With that said like a computer turning it on and off is the only way to get a system reboot. A reboot cures many issues. You do that by disconnecting the coach battery's at the posts, always remove negative terminals first. Keep disconnected for at least fifteen minutes and then reconnect negative terminals first. See how it is after that.

Cool - I didn't know that.
You can take over helping John, since you have the same inverter. As you can see, I've already exhausted my meagre knowledge of that device.
No problem Chuck,
Just happen to be very familiar with that unit, I've been a great fan of your posts.
Thank you Windwalker.
It's old and tired. I replaced mine with a Zantrex 3000. Working good and fit in 25 space
Inverter seems to be coming back to life, now for my other issue....a little history first. just brought coach home from MOT where I had the loveseat, dash, door and surround re-upholstered. Now the lights in both closets and bedroom overhead storage do not work, and the outside door/porch light is also inoperative. Fuses under bed are fine. Any ideas
John,
Those items you list are all on the same fuse in the fuse panel at the foot of the bed. Double check the fuses and check the wires where they are terminated in that fuse panel. If those check out they may have cut the wire that is in the tunnel that runs next to the wall under the loveseat. If they run a screw in that wire it should have burnt the fuse though. I know that isn't much to go on just sone random thoughts.
