Title: Where is the girard patio awning wind sensor controller located?
Post by: jam4travel on January 27, 2022, 06:52:37 pm
I need help.

I have a 2007 Foretravel Nimbus Model 336 which sustained over $67,000 of hail storm damage.  One of the items that had to be replaced was the Girard Patio Awning.  The new awning was installed but the wind sensor does not work.  Can anyone tell me where to locate the Control for the Girard Patio Awning Wind Sensor on this model coach?

Thank You in Advance,

John

Sorry I can't help you directly, but Girard has been helpful to me in the past:  Girard Awnings (http://www.girardgroupcompanies.com/)

Also, you can contact Foretravel and their tech guys will likely have the information:  Foretravel (http://www.foretravel.com/technical-support)

On our 03 it was in the cabinet above the windshield in front of the passenger seat.

Same. Have to remove back wall of the cabinet above passenger side windshield to get to it.

Mine is in the small cabinet above the entry door.

If someone can tell me how to stop the propellor from spinning, my DW would be very grateful!!

Take it off and don't leave your awning out when your not at the coach or asleep then you never have to worry about it. Those Awnings are tough though I was in town when a windstorm came up quick on the coast. My wife was there but couldn't get to the switch above entry door, to high for her. The wind raised the awning up and down she said six feet. When I got back the awning wouldn't close all the way, started seeing $$ signs. All it did was slide the outer bar on the arms so once put back in place worked fine. Thankfully the wind wasn't enough to fold it over the coach.
Lesson learned...put it in before I go to town.
