I know the answer is here somewhere, but my searching was not productive.
What does the orange valve on the left do that the blue valve on the right does not?
Philosophical question: When a pipe comes loose and pumps the entire contents of the fresh water tank into the bay, do we curse the FT gods for the terrible event, or praise them that they made it happen with us at home, when and where we would see it.
The orange-handled valve looks like it was the work of a previous owner. It is in the tank drain line. Either this or the blue-handled valve on the right will drain the tank. Hook a hose to the fitting after the orange-handled valve and you could fill the tank or drain it away from the coach. It probably needs a check valve to prevent water from coming out. The other two blue-handled valves are the hot and cold line drain valves.
Usually, direct fill connections are close to the top of the tank.
When it comes to water and the basement the FT deities rarely get praise.
If that hose that is laying by the screwdriver is what blew out you need to blame the P/O as FT didn't use that kind of material during production.

As it was, it did look non-factory to me, and it had slipped off before. I replaced the clear, woven hose with PEX and press-on connectors. I did have to add a section of reinforced rubber hose and clamps because there was not a lot of room. I will ask friends if they have a PEX crimper.
Would not that also be used to fill the tank if the blue valve was closed?
