Title: I need the primary fuel filter housing part number
Post by: StevenOrlando on March 01, 2022, 10:04:15 pm
I'm looking for the  part number for my primary fuel filter housing -  1997 U320.

I backed over a tall curb and sheared the threaded boss off, with the Fleetguard FS100 filter.

It mounts onto a chassis member and has two heavy gauge fuel lines attached at 180 degrees apart from each other.

Thanks,

Steven

I'm looking for the primary filter base, not the Wynn secondary fuel filter.
This broken item  mounts near the M11 engine, not near the start batteries where the "Wynn" fuel separator is located.

Mine is the same part number: 3820445.  its called a  "Fuel filter head".

I can't find one anywhere. I tried several    'used truck parts'  and    'used cummins engine parts'    web sites as well as my local Cummins dealership. Nothing is available.

I welcome your ideas where to find one.

Thanks,

May I Inquire why it needs replacement. Wont help in sourcing although I found many with a google search, but why do you need to replace?

dsd,
As my initial post mentioned,  "I backed over a tall curb and sheared the threaded boss off, with the Fleetguard FS100 filter."
Regarding the item you found, I called that source first. They no longer have it in stock.

Sorry I didn't see that. There are many full filter bases that will work. There are also similar filters with better finer micron rating. I would consider changing if I was unable to source one. I have one in my shop and will try to remember to get the part number off it and post a picture of it and filter.

I found a good, used one, thanks.
It's installed, no leaks, lesson learned - don't back up at night without a spotter and/or good lighting.
