thought my kitchen exhaust fan-KOM- was bad- took it to a motor shop to see if it could be rebuilt, they checked it and said it was good. I have misplaced the resistor switch to reinstall the motor. I have 3 wires coming out to feed the resistor switch and motor, white, black and yellow- I can't seem to get voltage on any wires?? I moved the thermostat and checked the high and low switch but no voltage- I checked the fuse under the bed- it's good. I was hoping I could use the fan without the resistor switch, but will order a new one if I can't find mine, but without voltage I'm stumped?? any ideas??
Took mine off - out.
Gave all the mechanic's to ?. Name slips me, perhaps he has what u need & will pop up.
Replaced the whole contraption with a current unit which also gave me a opening sky light in the kitchen. The current ones fit the same hole in the roof/ ceiling. Only problem is to get the vent off the roof. Held down with 40 screws plus a mastic takes a little effort.
Cost with a remote control memory -300. Quiet, pleasant, attractive. Coach no longer looks like a food truck .
:D
I like our " food truck " look. Curly or regular?
Bill, do you have a link to that new fan and skylight? Thanks!
Joe, this is the one I used love it.

I too have replaced the oem fan with a MaxAir with remote control unit, and used the remote base to cover the old holes from the old thermstat.
My bride wants to keep the KOM If possible, it seems to be a wiring/power issue. I'm a little stumped as to what the problem is, was hoping for technical advice besides replacing the whole unit.
I replaced the motor in mine with one from NAPA. I'll see if I can find the part number. You may be able to take your old on to NAPA , they can match it up. You may need to use a 20 amp fuse instead of a 15amp, the wire size is fine. Try a NAPA 6552378 motor, it is 3 1/4" diameter but will work just fine, your old one is 3". It seem to me one member found a 3" one at Napa . Hope this helps. PM me if you have questions.
From what you are saying you have no power to the switch. Did you check the fuse
with a test light or a voltmeter. The fuse could look good but not work. The only other
thing I could suggest is too use a tone tracer to see if you have a break in the wire.
