Title: Hydraulic fan on radiator needed
Post by: "Irish" on April 27, 2022, 01:55:16 pm
Does anyone know what hydraulic radiator fan might work on our 99 U270 Cummins 350hp, found there the exact replacement is on a forever back order
Thanks
David

David,

Has a hydraulic shop verified that the old one can not be rebuilt?

They are pulling it out now but they do not rebuild them

Technically you don't need a rebuild , just a reseal. Not a big deal. Crainman has posted seal sizes prior.

Called the repair shop and they are sending it over to a hydraulic shop tomorrow, hope they are able to fix it quickly.
The fan I have is a Flexolite 21" sucker type, all the coaches from 96 thru 2000 had these fans which are no longer available since the factory stopped making them last year.

What's wrong with the motor. If it is just leaking that's easy to fix.

Yes a light spray of oil, not much. But more than I want. I am trying to find Cranemans seal post right now

I just changed mine and the seal shop I got them from said the had 18 in stock so I
guess they are a common seal. 20 30 7 AS is the number on the seal. The hydraulic
shop won't have any trouble getting them

You might try Northwest RV Supply (http://www.nwrvsupply.com) they have some of the fan motors that may work. If the fan was running fine just leaking a new seal should fix the problem.
