We had a pretty hard rainstorm the other day, and noticed a pretty bad leak in the slide window.
What would be the proper procedure to repair the leak correctly ?
If I have to completely remove the window and scrape off the old sealant, what is the BEST sealant to redo it with?
Thanks
Bulb only 3/4 w x 3/8 h dual. *product sold by the foot. - Trim Seal (https://www.austinhardware.com/bulb-only-3-4-w-x-3-8-h-dual.html)
use this for your seal its the best price in the USA.
after you take the window off on the bottom part where the seal meets pull on the Ruber to expose about 2 inches of the sticker film and with your finger keep rolling it until you can grab it once you have it with a steady pull take off the film and the rubber seal
there should be minimal glue residue .
you can pull all the rubber off and then work on pulling the sticker film
when you pull you should be in front of the pull or leading the pull that way you force all the residue to come off.
clean the residue with a glue remover and the. with alcohol and apply new seal
have another helper since windows are heavy.
when done correctly it should be about 1 hour per window.
you will need to remove all the window trims and shades to get to the screws.
best of luck

Glenn make sure your slide pin receiver drains are not clogged and that the receiver is sealed good to the slide. We had a leak around our slide window and it was due to a faulty silicone seal. Not sure where your leak was but just a thought.

So I replace a gasket and NO sealant around the window?
How do I check to see if slide pins are draining correctly?
Thanks
I just blow air through the drain holes on the bottom of slide when extended. You can barely reach the top holes with the awning in place. They should clear by blowing if not may have to set the awning out of the way and clean from top. No sealant on the windows just the bulb seal, mine are half inch D shaped.

Sorry Glenn i was talking about around the slide pin receiver not the window.
