Title: No power at the wash bay- 2015 Foretravel IH 45
Post by: M Godwin on July 04, 2022, 05:01:34 pm
Hello Friends

2015 IH 45. Went to dump the black tank and notice there is no power at the switch. No power at the grey switch or water hose or electric hose reel.

I believe its 12 volt? Ive been looking for the fuses or breakers. Any thoughts?

Worst case- Can I manually dump the black tank, by passing the electric switch?

Thanks in advance

I haven't tinkered on but one IH so thoughts are limited (was working on the surge guard stuff) but seems like I saw a 12vdc breaker buss in the basement in your electronics bay. This is the bay that has the HWH system, surge guard system, and the like is located. Snoop around in there look over and behind the HWH compressor for the buss.

Thank You. I believe I found the 12v bus bar in the basement bay right behind the drivers steer tire. I did end up taking off the stainless cover panels and found the small allen head bolt to manually drain the black tank. Now I'll spend some time tracing back the wires to the power source. Was hoping there was a relay switch behind the stainless panel...cant seem to find anything yet.

Only a year of ownership under my belt with my 2015 IH45.  Not familiar with the sewer drain system but have been chasing some 12v electrical issues from time to time.  On my 15, the automotive [chassis] breakers are on the front wall of the first driver's side basement area.  They are all auto-reset breakers. The house 12v breakers are in the same compartment as the inverters and HWH stuff.  My understanding is that auto reset fuses will reset as soon as the fault is cleared but my experience is that you need to cycle the batteries off and on for a reset?  There is also a "C-RV" switch in the wet bay that I understand, resets the comm. buss, or maybe the SilverLeaf.  Perhaps a reset of one or more of these aforementioned 12v sources might help?  .

Yep, found the 12v bus bar in the basement bay with the inverters. Small tiny black buttons on the side of each fuse. Like a GFI button on a receptacle. The fuse labeled Shoreline Reel was tripped. All good.

Here's a pic of the bus bar and the small black fuse buttons on the side.

I have tripped that breaker once. I think it happened when I did not shut off the cord reel when it got to the end.
