Title: Which diag connector on a 2002 U295 Cummins 400?
Post by: BrAndT on July 13, 2022, 01:02:56 am
Hi all!

Tried to search for this but came up with so many matches that it was just too much to go through.

I'm looking at getting a 2002 U295 with the Cummins ISL 400 and wanted to know if it has the 7-pin J1708 or the 9-pin J1939 connector.

Thanks,
Bruce

My FIL has a 2002 U295 and I have a 2003 U320.  Both have BOTH the 12-pin J1708 and the 9-pin J1939 connector.  In my coach, only the 12-pin connector provided all data without issue.  The 9-pin didn't provide transmission selection or current gear, or retarder temp to the VMSpc software.

Thanks, @WS6_Keith!

That's very informative.  I assume that SilverLeaf makes a 12-pin to 12-pin cable for this use?

I'm not sure if Silverleaf makes it as I got mine from Roger (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2481) on this board, but he had both.
