I had new front tires installed last year and ever since then I have encountered an issue with the front right side
After driving for a while and the vehicle is warmed up and standard braking while driving, when I slow down I get a high pitched squeal from the front right. It occurs even when not braking. Slowing down and when I turn the wheel left it makes the sound constantly. I had a shop pull the wheel off and he thought it might be a glazed disc brake. That to me does not make sense because it occurs when not braking as well. I might add I do not hear it when driving at highway speeds. In talking to another heavy duty mechanic he wonders if it could be a bearing
Lots of questions as I now have been told that if it is a bearing it is a 3 hour job to assess and repair AND the front brakes would have to be replaced. The front brakes do not pull and work great right now
I am looking for forum thoughts on the reason for the sound as well as thoughts on the hours etc told to me about the costs
Also IS this a safety issue? My intentions are to go on a 1500 mile trip and want to ensure safety is not a factor or I am not stranded roadside somewhere
Thoughts please... anyone had this occur??

Based on what you are saying I would agree with bearing. 3 hrs to replace the bearing may not be to bad in time. If bearing are making the noise you need to replace them before your trip.
First thing I would do is check your hub oil,not sure why they have to replace the brake pads,if they are careful they can be removed and reinstalled.
I agree with John if the brakes are good they don't need to be changed. If you jack up the
wheel and turn it by hand is the best way to find out what is making the noise.
Thanks everyone. I will get the hub oil checked first and the bearings if that is not the issue
Money. Money. Money.

If your hub oil checks out jack the right side up just do the tire is not touching the ground and take a pry bar and see if u have any movement by prying up on the tire there should be none.
Search the forum, hub oil check is about the simplest check you can do yourself on the coach and it's free, free, free.
PS,take the red cap off and stick your finger in the oil and pull it out,if you see any metal flakes or particles your bearing is shot and go from there.
Before you take the red cap off you should probably have a new replacement cap, available at most truck stops and auto parts stores.
