Has anyone found a shop that does a good job repairing/rebuilding/fabricating a replacement for the HWH slide synchronization cylinder? It looks like it will be a very long wait for one from HWH. Based on pictures I sent, two shops told me the cylinder appears to be non-repairable, although one said they could fabricate a replacement, but it would be pricey (minimum 700 to 800, possibly more). Would rather not go the better part of a year with no slide out.
Have you asked HWH if they can rebuild it? We needed a replacement last year and were able to take it there and they rebuilt it for us. Ended up costing way less than a replacement would have been.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, HWH said it would be about three weeks before they could call me back to discuss it. I have no idea how long it might take to get a replacement or have this one rebuilt. When I called Foretravel, I was told they had cylinders on back order from HWH since last year. So I am not optimistic about getting anything from HWH soon.
Well they do schedule out there time. When I had computer issues I called and sent it in. It was repaired in a month and returned. Several months later the tech called for my original issue. I'm sure there is a workaround for the cylinder

Yeah, we were in that situation, We had one on backorder with MOT last year. Was supposed to be 4 to 6 weeks. Week 12 I called HWH myself to check status. They told had no idea when new ones would be available and suggested I bring the coach in and they probably could rebuild it. I would call the service department (Lon or Ashley) and ask if they can get you on the repair schedule. They were very accommodating.
