We haven't had a Foretravel for the past 5 years. Well we bought a 1984 35 foot ORED. It has the 6 bolt wheels and the 8.2 Detroit engine. I was really hoping for the 3208 and 10 bolt wheels like our previous 84. This was a very early 84 being built in August of 1983. The house part of it needs some tlc but it is nearly 40 years old. Over the years many people have worked on it so I have to try to figure out what they have messed up. Excited to get it home in the next few days and start the restoration.
Thats great news. Hopefully it will work as well as your prior bus and my old Girl.
That is great
Big project, have fun 👍
Congrats,
Can you post pics
Ron & Nancy, I'm so happy for you both! If anybody can git 'er done, it's you! Many congratulations & looking forward to seeing y'all down the road....(PS I'll never forget our 1st road trip, March of 2014, you & Gary O. "saved my bacon"!)
Wonderful news, excited for you guys!
You now need to change your signature line since you are no longer coachless
Based on your past experience, the coach could not have found a better owner!
Pictures?
I find it very cool that someone so familiar with the Foretravel brand chose a vintage ORED. So curious too what the coach looks like now and after. And I want to hear all about it.
Enjoy your new toy !
Why choose an ORED over a U series ?
For me it's simple, more robust means less problems. To me a high tensile steel chassis will always beat mild steel tube. IMHO
I have a few more parts that maybe you can use . 3 hydro jacks
Trash compactor
Ice maker
HWH panel that worked
In dash CB radio. No mic
ProTech I will contact you about those parts. We are not far from you. Thanks
Olde English also cost. This was much less than a u280. It wasn't quite what I hoped for but very hard to find one of this age that hasn't rotted mostly down. I know where our old 84 with the cat 3208 is so that might be an option to change engines but probably not.
Congrats! I am also interested in pics.
I am inquisitive though.... you went from a 2003 with a M11 to a 98 u295 to a 84 to another 84. What made you do this? The majority of people in society upgrade on whatever item it is, ie car, house etc. It's like windows in a car, once you have power windows you don't want to go back to manual cranks as you are used to that luxury. I respect that you can and do operate this way, very cool.
Ron,
I'm not sure that the rearend is rated for weight of a 3208, I've seen allegros on that setup with a 3208 so maybe ?
Mick
Ron would have to give that answer but we do know that Ron knows FT like Buffet knows stock, maybe better.
2003 to 84 is an upgrade .
We went from 84 to a 98 to a 03 then to a slide in pickup camper and now back to an 84. We got it home yesterday evening. It was quite a trip 250 mile shake down cruise. One front tire blew out. No damage I was only going 35. It now has 2 new Toyo front tires. I have found a few more things that need looking into, but all in all think that it is fixable. Looking forward to getting started fixing it up. I will get some pictures, today needed to rest up.
Glad you made it home safely
Hey neighbor, Looking forward taking a peak at that classic when we get back to Tampa in the fall! Glad to hear you made it back safe.
You'll be camping in comfort this year at Flywheelers.
Congrats
J & K
I don't know if I can have it ready by then. Looking forward to seeing you both.
Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing you, Nancy and your new project when we return this fall.

If you need some help or short term space, I'm just south of Tampa on rt 41
I am on Riverview Dr just a little east of 41. We must be close together.
