I wanted to post a photo of the new 12v refrigerator I installed in order to demonstrate what I consider to be a really good fit in the cabinetry. I did not have to modify the opening in any way. I replaced the existing Dometic DM2862RBX with a new Norcold N10DC.
The mounting screws were too far back on the new refrigerator to screw into the cabinet. The holes lined up with the foam insulation just beyond the wood facing of the cabinet. I used metal electrical 4" square surface blank covers as brackets to line-up with the mounting screws at each location. I screwed the covers to the wood first, lifted the refrigerator into place, and then used self tapping sheet metal screws to fasten the refrigerator to the blank covers. It is really solid.
The new refrigerator does not have a finish flange around the opening. I may get some black 1/4" angle trim if I decide I don't like that aspect of the installation.
Super easy.
There it is.

That's a really nice looking install. Congratulations on that job
