Title: Motorhome Tires
Post by: floridarandy on September 16, 2022, 05:17:12 pm
2022 is the year we'll be replacing all 6 of our tires.

I'm going to be checking out the discounts from FMCA and CoachNet.

I ran across Motorhometires.com.  They can either ship to my installer or they, apparently, have installers that can "come to you".  I'm less interested in having them install but at this point want comments from the Forum on their tire offerings in 275/80/R22.5.  All prices include free site installation, FET, shipping, balancing, new stems and old tire disposal.  Reported "fresh" with date codes less than 6 months from current.

So, for now, let's just look any tire offerings and prices.  Im not likely at this point to have an unknown come install my tires but I have asked for more information on installation.

1.  Cooper Roadmaster RM272 Load Range J (16/32 tread )18 ply)- $3944.00
2.  Continental HSR2 SA Load Range J (20/32 tread 16 ply) - 5555.00
3.  Hankook AH22 Load Range H (22/32 tread 16 ply) - 5683.00
4.  Goodyear RSA Load Range J (20/32 tread 18 ply) - 5850.00
5.  Michelin XLine Energy Z Load Range H (19/32 tread 16 ply) - 6148.0
6.  Goodyear G670 RV Load Range H (14/32 ply 16 ply) - 6488.00

Don't use Good year  on motorhomes.  It my be some model of tires that have problems but I would not use them.  Now on my boat trailer I like Goodyear

My Goodyear's I pulled off had a large amount of cupping so I agree.. been so long I dont remember model but stay clear.. Toyos had a good run and Michelins held up well on the fronts of mine so far (3 years old now). They hold air well.. I did steer tires on all.

If you have a Southern Tire Mart you need to check them out as their prices are completive as to what you have listed. They have beat the FMCA price for us. Their tire hangers have always been good to us.

NTCS | NTCS - North America Fleet Management Services (https://nationaltireconciergeservices.com/home)

@Rudy  can talk more about this, but when I get tires, I will almost assuredly go this route. There is a 1 time fee. The benefits of being able to get a tire when you are out traveling is worth it. It sounds like this guy can get tires where most dealers cannot. More can chime in who may have experiences.

Dave Ward of NTCS is the Michelin brand tire source that exceeds FMCA and dealers in price and service.  His $90 fee is saved on usually the purchase of just one tire.  He knows tires and can suggest what you want and answer all your questions.

I have clients that have 365 steer tires which are hard to find and expensive.  He has found tires that dealers and warehouse folks say are not available.  A Newell owner shared he had called for 2 days looking for a single 365 steer tire and could not find one.  He was stuck till a new was located.  Dave had on there in 2 days and someone to put it on.

New tires from Dave have a $20 three year wheel and tire road hazard option.  Plus, Dave signs you up to Michelin OnCall, a 24/7 road side service that will have your size tire at the NTCS price at your coach in about 2 hours.  Most of the time OnCall can meet that deadline.

I can go on and on.  But if you want Michelin or B F Goodrich brand tires, Dave is the man.  Please tell him I said "Hi"

I purchased my Toyo M177s from Southern Tire Mart in Albuquerque in February. I echo what Mike says. My experience with Goodyear 670 was not good. Tires showed a lot of "rivering." If interested in Mich or Goodrich then check with Ernie's guy.

I also had good luck with Southern tire mart when I had a blow out on I10 in FL panhandle.

They came out and replaced tire, I followed their guy back to shop.  they installed the other 5 tires.

About $3100 total.  This was about 6 years ago, so price will likely be higher
