I'm getting ready to install 600 Ah of lithium batteries. I have the original freedom inverter and Link 2000 monitor. It looks like from reading that the charging parameters are able to be customized with the link. Just wondering in anyone has done this. Not really ready replace the entire system $$$$. The alternator will be taken off the house charging. At some point if necessary a B toB charger will be added. I also have 850 watts of solar with an Outback charge controller that has a lithium profile.
I found a setting in my Xantrex Freedom 458 manual that was very close to the specs for my AmpierTime batteries. It was labeled Gel2. The battery manual had a range of acceptable charge profiles and Gel2 was well within that range. I set my solar charge controller to the exact or optimal specification. I can toggle the Xantrex on and off from the control panel. I did add the Victron Orion B2B, but solar handles it well on the road. If you are using Trik-L charge that does need to be updated to Amp-L charge with the new lithium profile.
Your BMS that comes with your batteries may be programmable? Mine will shut down the charge current when it gets to the set point.
I'm sure the BMS will protect the batteries. But I have read you shouldn't rely on it for every day control.
