Title: Fuel filter

Anyone use a Fleetguard FS1000 for primary water fuel separator, on ISC 350. This will eliminate the plastic bowl.

Bruce,

Guess you could, but I really like the ability to "see" what is in the clear bowl of the Racor configuration.  Easy to tell at a glance if there is water, dirt or algae in the fuel.

I always made it a point to check it the first time we stop after fueling up.

I have found the Davco filter, mounted inside engine compartment for easy access and inspection, to be a great replacement.  Super easy to service, with large filter element fully visible under clear dome its easy to monitor filter life and level of contamination. Drain valve for no mess element changes. Air bubbles are easily spotted if you have a loose fitting or faulty fuel lines.  Replacement filter elements cheap and widely available.  No purge pump, nor have I needed one, coach starts instantly, original fuel lines.  Industry standard for OTR trucks.
