Title: Trouble shooting guide for Aqua hot AHE 100-02S
Post by: Busnut on October 24, 2022, 04:09:08 pm
I discovered the diesel side of the aqua-hot won't ignite. It makes that familiar initial sound then you hear it attempt but won't ignite. The ac side works fine and I do have heat out of all the registers. Had service done a month ago and worked fine then, new nozzle, chamber cleaned and new filter. I would like to trouble shoot it. Does anyone have a trouble shooting guide for this model? Or if some one could walk me through the process on checking why the diesel burner won't ignite?
Thanks

When checking the continuity across the VDC control thermostat and the VDC  high limit thermostat do you need to unplug the wires?

Busnet,  I am up just now and take calls between 8 and 8 central time.

When checking continuity on any device, it must be removed from the circuit.  So, unplug one wire from each thermostat your are checking.

Thank you Rudy for taking my call and your help.
Now update after going through the trouble shooting guide and Rudy's help. I got spark, found some wires going to the switch that where not connected properly. Got it fired up. Had a lot of white smoke then cleared out with in 5 minutes. I would expect that after trying several time to fire it up and no spark. I fired it up a few hours later and all was fine no smoke. I went to fire it up the next day. As I was standing near the exhaust pipe. I watch fuel come running out and it fired up. There was white smoke for at least 5 minutes. Now what I thought I fixed I have fuel running out the exhaust pipe and don't know why. I'll have to remove the burner head and check the fuel nozzle
