The hot water shut off on this manifold drips whether it is off or on.
Can anyone tell me how to take these apart? I know I've read there are no parts and this manifold is not available.
It would be nice to see an exploded view or something. Is this a simple ball valve or maybe they have an o-ring?
Any photos?
Advice?
Thanks, Dick
This thread has a lot of information:
Manabloc Fittings (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=43417)
Thank you, Bruce.
With that information, I should be able to fix this.
I ended up replacing mine. Bought through Foretravel. Fit without any problems.
I believe you can still get them off the internet also. Do a Google search.
It's not a ball valve per se. All plastic components sealed with 4 o-rings. I disassembled my entire manifold to replace several freeze-cracked valves when I bought my coach. The manifold is held together with 2 threaded rods and each valve assembly is identical. Only difference is the color of the valve insert (with the diamond). The newer design valves have a more robust diamond, less prone to shearing off, like a handful of mine did (make sure you don't have a hair line freeze crack in the valve body or the threaded outlet part). I ordered replacements for the inserts here: https://www.supplyhouse.com/Viega-50602-Valve-Stem-Replacement-Kit-Full-Turn ...and they are a plug and play replacement for the original version. The inserts snap into the barrel housings and can be popped back out with the viega tool that comes with the replacement valve bodies, or with a pair of needle nose plier from the rear of the manifold. Every few years I plan to pop each valve out and lube with plumber's silicone grease. It's a cool plumbing system btw. Woody.
FYI, Viega built me a direct replacement manifold back in May for $185.
