Title: Backsplash U270
Post by: Realmccoy on November 25, 2022, 01:03:41 pm
We have been hanging out in North Texas for doctor appointments and to visit friends. We decided to remove the mirror behind the stove top and install Peel & Stick Tile 1916422 from Lowes. We used 1/8" x 1/2" X 36" aluminum flat bar from ACE Hardware for the trim along with 1/2" VHB tape to attach it to wall. The tile was cut with a sharp razor knife and T square. We used #93 Warm Gray Mapesil T Plus tile caulk for bottom, corner, and window seal. Wife still debating the choice of a new wall light fixture. The caulk worked to fill in the tiny lines where each tile square joined the next. Mirror removal was messy - wear safety glasses. Silicone adhesive cleaned up easily from 24 year old installation. Ended up ditching the Corian 1/4" trim that ran from the mirror edge to end of counter and installing tile flush to counter. The tiles are not a full 12" square, so be aware when measuring.

The backsplash does look great, but it's the Berkey that makes it perfect.

That looks really great!  You had a mirror there? Interesting as mine does not.
