Title: Bathroom overhead light does not work
Post by: Peter on January 05, 2023, 01:39:46 pm
I think I saw something already on the site about this but am unable to locate it.
My bathroom over head light beside the shower does not work. In reading I believe the momentary switch on the bathroom counter and the momentary switch located in the bedroom below the tv is supposed to operate this light. (Is this correct??).
I have tried both switches to no avail and the light does not work. My intention is to switch this over to led but want to make sure it works before proceeding with this.
Does anyone have suggestions as to the issue?

Checked all of that. Seems to be good. Wondering if there is a relay somewhere I can not locate

That's the push to turn on, push to turn off switches right?  If so, that uses a latching relay to turn that light on and off.  If it's like mine, it's a 120V AC fixture, not 12VDC like the other bathroom bulbs.

I'd check if you get power at the fixture itself...maybe the bulb is bad?  IIRC, it's the same bulb as the double light setup in front of the bathroom pocket door.  Maybe you could swap bulbs to see if the bathroom bulb works.

there may be a relay behind the bedroom tv, I think possibly  there is a panel in the closet wall to get in there. On my 99 the are some lighting relays be hind the cabinet above the microwave as well you might try there first.  The panel where the MW plugs in is removable. All the lights in your coach are 12v unless someone has changed it.

Dick, not sure what it is called, but it is white and needs replacing.  It is located in the closet on mine and you have to take the side  panel off that faces the bedroom.  You will see it hanging in there.  I ordered mine from FOT.  This switch controls both light switches.

I had to fix the relay in my parent's rig (99 320) as one of the wires wiggled loose. It is located above the drawer under the TV in the bedroom. It's not the easiest to get to and I think I had to use a mirror to figure out how to get the wire back into the relay.

For reference, it's white and the same as the water pump and fill relays located in the first bay under the white fiberglass cover.

It's called a latching relay

On some floor plans that relay is accessed by removing a drawer in the bathroom and it is located behind it. Just have to go exploring. Probably like earlier post behind the bedroom tv.

That relay is probably mounted close to one of the two switches.

Does anyone know the part number for the latching relay under the rear TV that is for the bathroom hall way light?
I would like to purchase one before digging under there. (I have seen it and know where it is)
