After wrestling with my Microphor the last couple of days, it's time for a change. My heart wants a Thetford Aria Deluxe II but my brain is telling me to go with the Dometic 320 and not worry about it again. For those who have made the change, what else do I need for mounting besides the 320 and maybe that nice looking base plate? Will I need a new flange? I just want to order what I need all at once so I'm not having to chase parts (beyond the water supply) when I start the install. Thanks!
I was able to reuse the flange. This is one of the easiest upgrades you can do...super simple. Just make sure you have enough distance between the back of toilet and cabinet behind. I just needed a bit of extra pex to make the connection easier, otherwise it was pretty much a hot swap
Absolutely easy. Manual toilet operation has it in spades vs any electric headache
Measure to verify it will fit! On the 2001 3610 it is a involved installation and beyond most skill sets. Once installed it has been completely forgotten about. Works perfect. It was always a concern prior to changing, 👍👍
2001 U320 3610 microphor toilet mod to Dometic 320 (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=43110.0)
Absolutely. My unit has a private toilet, so plenty of room.
We went with the Thetford Aria Deluxe II a few years ago and we really like it. We prefer staying with the electric flush and have no regrets.
Dan, one thing to remember when doing the swap. If the bolts in the flange don't match up, you can purchase the wood screw to nut thread, put on two nuts and tighten them together and screw the ends down in the wood to match your bowl holes. Other than that, it is an easy swap. The 320 is ADA height and the enlongated is the way to go for sure. I also installed the nice base trim and well worth the money when done for a nice finish. This will also be the time to install a quarter turn ball cock valve for your supply line. Easy fix as well and one you will thank yourself for the extra finish off. Any questions, please ask. I have done a ton of plumbing and can help in that respect. Best upgrade you will do!
Been happy with our conversion to the 320. However the wash down pattern is lacking in that even after a lengthy flush, some areas of the bowl will be missed.
You may check out the Thetford Aqua Magic Plus, it was a straight swap, took less than an hour on mine. Just had to lengthen the supply line by about 8".
If you have removed your Microphor toilet and it is a model LF-220 and is bone in color I would like to purchase it.
Changed out toilet, Sealand 510 for Dometic 320 (https://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=35284.msg329236#msg329236)
Based on the expert wisdom from the forum we made the switch to a 320 this weekend. We had to turn the flange a quarter turn to get the holes to line up, other than that it was a direct swap. Really think we are going to like the upgrade. Our Microphor was working fine, just wanted a higher seat and to reduce future failure.
Thinking about selling parts??
Our was not nearly as easy, but it changed a continuous concern to a non issue. Has worked great for us. Pure analog toilets makes sense to me. DW still thinks it's too tall for her.

For you folks switching to the Sealand 320 toilet, purchase an extra spring cartridge for the foot operated valve. This is the weak link for this toilet and is easy to replace in a few minutes. They last for a long while but when they break the foot valve will not return.
BUT, the toilet is still operational, you just need to lift the foot valve back closed. I have done that awaiting a new cartridge to arrive but sure like immediate replacement.
The reason I have the 320 is it never goes out of service when there is a failure and replacement is in only minutes.
Peter, look up my past post regarding the list of parts I have from my change out.
We will be home around the first of June, so I could package up the parts for you, at that time.
I will sell all parts for one, fair price. Let me know if you are interested. I wish I had saved the commode, but, alas.......

Here's what I have sitting in the garage....Who needs what?
I also have a new cam and flapper seal from Mullaney
